Neighbors of Pakistan in Geopolitics

The results of the Indian Lok Sabha’s elections have come as a setback for Narendra Modi and his party BJP with collation of NDS.

Although Modi is poised for a third term as Prime Minister, his party has failed to secure a simple majority this time. Consequently, a coalition government is forming, consisting of members from approximately 25 to 30 allied parties. The Congress and its allies have achieved extraordinary success in these elections. Modi’s government will now be under pressure, with the potential for significant shifts. If the allies of NDA withdraw the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make a collation government in federal could find itself in opposition, and the Congress could come to power.

There is no doubt that the formerly President Modi has economically strengthened India over the past decade and played a quite vital role in diplomacy. Today’s India in Geo politics is far better position than it was a decade ago. It has gained a prominent place in the global community, significantly enhancing the identity and respect of Indians. However, India has also strayed from its secular constitution, fostering a Hindu-centric ideology and inciting religious bigotry, which has manifested in the form of armed Hindu groups. The Congress contested the elections on the platform of preventing this prejudiced Hindu ideology from dominating the constitution. Rahul Gandhi ran a vigorous campaign, leading to a significant victory for Congress.

Meanwhile, in Iran newly President Mohammad Mokhber has been appointed the President after the demise of Ibrahim Raisi, marking the first time since the Iranian Revolution that a Sunni has held such a significant position. The atmosphere in Tehran and its surroundings has been evolving since the revolution. Today’s Iranian generation seeks freedom from clerical rule. In response, the Iranian state has taken a prudent step for its survival by appointing Mokhber, who is neither a cleric nor a representative of the state’s religion. He is a diplomat fully loyal to Iran.

In Afghanistan, state representatives are fostering relations with Russia and rapidly expanding ties with Iran. It is noteworthy that Russia is the same country against which they fought for years, and Iran holds significantly different religious views. However, the Afghans have learned through struggle that their interests lie in strong relations and trade with their neighbors.

The friendship between China and Pakistan is often described as higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the sea. Yet, Pakistan has failed to grasp that state relations are based on shared interests rather than mere friendship. The handling of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), marred by kickbacks and project rollbacks, led China to advance its Belt and Road Initiative beyond Pakistan. Now, Pakistan is seeking China’s favor, but China has moved on to new avenues.

The fifth neighbor, the sea, remains as it is, progressively polluted like our own state. The world is changing and progressing, while we continue in reverse. Pakistan is trapped in a political and economic quagmire, a situation persisting for decades. Governments rise and fall, puppets are brought in and out, the entire state system is mortgaged, the property sector is promoted at the expense of other industries, particularly production units, and reliance on imports continues. People are detained, manipulated, and killed. This cycle persists.

The heavens have given this land many opportunities, yet the focus of the bureaucrats has been on making themselves the state, leaving 240 million people to suffer the consequences of the generals’ misconduct.
